Participants are encouraged to arrive at the starting point 1 hours prior to the start time of the race.
Mandatory equipment will be checked upon registration and must be carried with each participant throughout the entire race.
The race bib has to be placed on the chest and visible throughout the entire race.
Participants are responsible for bringing their own water bottle or hydration pack as no water bottles will be provided at the reception area or on the race route.
Participants who cannot proceed to the finish line within the time limit will be considered as Did Not Finish (DNF).
Participants are required to check in with event staff at every checkpoint (time-recording point) throughout the race.
Littering is prohibited. Any participant caught littering on the trail is subject to immediate disqualification.
Participants are not allowed to use any types of vehicles. Any participant caught doing so is subject to immediate disqualification. Vehicles can only be used in case of injuries or in the case that the participants decide to quit the race.
The organiser can not be held responsible, if the participant is lost on the course, resulting in late arrival or wrong distance. There will be no consideration in terms of their finishing time.
Participants, support crews, and the organizers must behave appropriately and respectfully towards others at all times.
It is not mandatory for participants to attend the briefing, but to read and accept the rules and conditions on www.deccanultra.com. The organizers will accept no complaints, assuming that participants understand, acknowledge and accept all the rules and regulations of the event.
Participants must compete with their own bib only. If not, event volunteers can forbid the participant to continue the race and disqualify him/her immediately.
The organiser reserves the right to cancel, postpone or delay the event due to any unforeseen circumstances beyond its control and at its discretion. The organiser shall not be held liable in respect to any entry fees, costs and expenses that a participant may incur as a result of such cancellation or postponement.
You consent to the free use of your name, voice, picture or video in any broadcast, telecast, advertising, promotion or other account of this event.
You must ensure that you provide correct details during the registration process and inform the organiser well in advance of the race, of any changes.
The course of the Deccan Ultra takes you through areas under the control of the Forests Department. Please be sensitive to the environment and do not disturb the surrounding flora and fauna in any manner. Runners are required to run along the marked track only. On the course you might encounter snakes, as the area habitats a variety of species. Please do take due care and exercise caution. While the organiser will do its best to take adequate precautions, the runners will not hold the organisers, forest officials, villagers or anyone else responsible for any injuries or incidents, including death.
You understand that the 80K & 110K event will require you to run in the dark at night. You are responsible for your own headlight/flashlight and you understand that the course will not be lit by the organiser.
Participants must wear a safety vest at night. If not, event staff can forbid the participant to continue the race immediately. The participant can race again only when wearing one.
Participants must carry a hydration pack and all mandatory equipment with themselves.
Any form of cheating will result in immediate disqualification.
The event organizer reserves the right to implement additional rules during the competition in case of unexpected or disruptive events, in order to preserve the competition or to allow the competition to continue until the end with the least interruption possible. The event organizer reserves all rights regarding the rules and the interpretation, and to enforce a decision.
The use of any types of performance-enhancing drugs is prohibited throughout the competition. Any participant caught using one is subject to immediate disqualification.
The participation in the race implies the acceptance of these rules and regulations.
Participants are not in any case allowed to have a pacer.
Participants are allowed to be assisted by their support crew only at official aid stations.
Withdrawal from the Race
The participant wishing to withdraw from the competition must communicate the withdrawal to the event organizer at the closest aid station, and provide them with their name, bib no, reason and the time of withdrawal.
As the race passes through remote locations with very less vehicular traffic, if a participant unfortunately withdraws from the race, he will have to wait for the arrangements to made from his transfer to the race venue. The organisers can not be held liable for the delay if occurred.
The additional cost that may incur in transporting the participant to the race venue will be borne by the participant.
